I have never been to a Nascar event, but my husband resently won tix to Darlington. We have a 6 month old baby girl, and I was wondering if it would be too loud for her to come with us? I dont want to hurt her little ears, but it would be much more affordable if we could bring her with us (I wont be drinking so thats not a problem). Thanks for any input you might have.

I’d probably get a baby sitter, it could be bad for the baby.
Ricky
I would not suggest it. The loud noise may be unpleasant to the kid and it could be non-stop crying. Fans can get pretty passionate at times jumping to their feet yelling. I really would not suggest it at least I wouldn’t if I had a 6 month old child.
Todd
congratulation’s on your daughter and the tix but yes the noise would concern me too i have 3 girls 1,3,4 n e way to find a babysitter or maybe his buddy can go you might have 2 sit this one out watch it with me and mike joy good luck
Sheila
Terrible idea with a capitol T. way, way, way, too crowded and noisy there.
Allan
6 months is quite young.
Me personally, I wouldn’t take an infant to a NASCAR race.
But I have seen them there.
If you do, make sure you get VERY good ear cover protection, keep her covered in high SPF sunblock, shaded as much as you can, and keep her hydrated.
It’s supposed to be hot this weekend for the Darlington race.
But I do discourage it strongly.
Juanita
As a person that has attended races at Talladega and Atlanta, I would Strongly recommend you do NOT take an infant to any races. period
Tara
yes it would be too loud dont do it, youre going to ruin her
Russell
I think that I would wait untill she is older. It would probably be to loud for her. As crowded as it gets she could get bumped into . I took my daughters to races when they were 5 and they were fine.

In my opinion, I’d hire the sitter.
At 6 moths, she’s just too little, her ears could suffer damage, get sunburned, etc.
Tell the hubby “NO DRINKING” that will pay for the sitter. Besides, you’d still have to drive home, right?.
Maureen
I wouldn’t take her. Not only is it loud it takes several hours to complete a race.
Norma
I really advise against it because mainly of the heat and the noise. With those 2 factors and throwing in all the baby needs, it adds up to a bad time for everyone.
Hector
No, very unpleasant to the baby, not to mention the noise, people.
I think it would be cruel to put her in that situation. Get the sitter, she’s gonna be better off, and so will you/hubby.
Alice
I think it would be unpleasant for the baby. Races are loud, long, and the crowd gets pretty excited at times. It would be awful for her to get bumped or knocked out of your arms. As a father of a 3 month old girl I think she would be happier with a sitter and besides just think of all the hugs and kisses y’all can give her when y’all get home.
GO 24!!!!

My children have been going to races with me since they were younger than that.. You don’t want to sit int the first few rows, because of the noise, and the dirt, but other than that all you need is ear plugs make sure she accepts them before making further plans), some very good sun block, and a blanket to provide some shade, lots to drink.. My oldest son had a problem with loud noises, so we had to sit a little further away than normal.. He’s a grown man, and still doesn’t like fireworks..
Teresa
I would definitly say WAIT!! It is very loud and the fans get very animated when their drivers are doing well, I think she would be very uncomfortable, scared, unhappy which in turn would make your first race very unenjoyable.
Harold
those cars are LOUD !!!!
A LOT of adults in the stands wear ear protection !
do you self and your baby a favor, stay at home, or find a sitter
seriously
Amanda
Toss up between her and Jr…if Jr. does not miss his pit, and she can hold it to one diaper change..he might be a favorite..
Lee
If his parents are JR fans he most likelly drink beer out of a bottle
Ron
I would find her a baby sitter. The noise would not be pleasant for her and she is too young to know what is going on and you can enjoy things more if someone sits with her.
Jonathan
I wouldn’t do it. Too dangerous on many levels. Sun, noise, smells and the risk of getting hit by debris. I would get a sitter.
Michael
I would leave her home. Too much noise, too many people (maybe even contagious ones!) You would have a much better time if you didn’t take her. It is worth the extra expense if you can get a sitter. That way you could enjoy the total race experience and not be taking care of the baby at the same time, limiting your enjoyment at the time.
