Pit stops in the low 13s are pretty good for a 4 tire change. Higher 13s (13.4-13.8) are probably more the average for the better teams. Usually during the course of the race you will have something happen where it takes longer so it is extremely hard to average in the 13s for all the stops during a whole race. The best stops can be in the mid to upper 12s.

it usually takes 13 to 14 seconds depending on how good the pit crew is

About 13 seconds is the goal for everyone. The low thirteens (13.3ish) are pretty average for a Cup team (Hendrick, Childress, Roush, Evernham, Gibbs). Maybe a half second more (13.8-13.9) for Petty, Ginn, Ganassi. If your crew can get you out in 12.8 or so, you will pick up a few spots. Busch and Trucks take longer.

If they do something like add or remove a spring rubber, it is more like 16 or 17 seconds.

14-15 seconds depending on the crew and the damage to the car.

I was whatching Nascar Classic on Espn Classic the Pit stops have really changed over the last 20 years, today it takes 15-18 seconds to complete a stop, a really good stop takes 13-14 seconds. But back in the 80’s it took 19-23 seconds a good pit stop took 16-17 seconds,

An average stop usually takes between 14 and 15 seconds. A good stop is around 14 or less.

Between 12-13 seconds. It depends on the needs of the car. is it a 2 or four tire change , full gas up or splash and go

10-15 secs. 10 would be luck. I sure wish I had a pit crew. LOL.

I would say the average is probably around 15 seconds. Some teams are faster than 15 and some are slower. Average should be close to 15. Maybe 14.5 secs.

    Dale

    ten seconds

If you have an awesome team (Matt Kenseth’s team is notoriously fast) you may average in the high 13’s for 4 tires and fuel.
If you hit the 12’s on any given stop you are WORLD CLASS!

there are a ton of variables in a pit stop damage crew traffic amount of work wanted done but for a 4tire full gas and no repairs might take about 15-17 or 19 seconds at max w/ a good crew

Most pit stops are in the 13 second range.
The modern pit stops can be traced back to the Wood Brothers in the 60’s,their stops of 20 seconds was fast then, but newer technology and training any stop over 14 seconds is bad.
That’s all I have to say about that.

  22. Momo says:

The normal pit should take less than 14 sec

  23. Gorilla says:

    Juanita

Without adjustments, fourteen seconds or less is a good stop

  24. john5242548 says:

There are a lot of variables.
    1.) Splash of gas=2.5 to3.5 sec.
    2.) 2 Tires and gas=10.0 to 11.0 sec.
    3.) 4 Tires and gas=12.0 to 15.0 sec.

If there are any adjustments or malfunctions,it can be anywhere from 2 to 15 seconds more or even longer.

    13.5 is a good avg.

We had one last year 12.6 (4 tires and full of fuel)!
Quickest one I have ever been a part of.
